SHS Homecoming float and game winners
There was fierce competition in the class floats at this year’s SHS Homecoming Parade with the Juniors coming out on top with the first place win! The Seniors placed second, followed by the Freshmen and Sophomores. The first place Community Float was “Devil Went Down To Stockton.”

Quake recorded Sunday near Rooks/Graham County line
The Kansas Geological Survey reported an earthquake Sunday evening in Rooks County. The 2.5-magnitude quake was recorded at 8:36 p.m.
W.A.C.K.Y. Day held
On Wednesday, September 28th the Kansas Natural Resource Foundation (KNRF) hosted their annual W.A.C.K.Y Day Camp at the Kirwin Boy Scout Camp. All sixth-graders from the area’s six county schools were invited to attend which included Rooks, Graham, Norton, Phillips, Smith, and Osborne Counties.
Area fall harvest update
With the fall harvest just gearing up in the area, the numbers recorded at the Stockton Farmers Union Elevator on Monday, October 17th were 78,000 bushels of milo, 54,000 bushels of corn and 22,000 bushels of soybeans.
Stockton Baptist Church
YOM KIPPUR, or the Jewish Day of Atonement, was observed on October 4th and 5th (evening to evening). It's the most holy day in Judaism when Jews confess their sins committed over the past year. It originally involved sacrifices for sin by the High Priest (see Leviticus 16).
