Augustine “Francis” VonFeldt passed away on October 10, 2022, in the Anthology of Olathe Assisted Living in Olathe, Kansas at the age of 90.

He was born on November 13, 1931, to August and Celestine (Kinderknecht) VonFeldt in Gorham, Kansas. He was united in marriage to Shirley A. (Robben) Vonfeldt on August 22, 1951, in Gorham. The couple was blessed with four children: Roger, Karen, Keith, and Alan.

Stephen V. Bond, age 79, passed away October 8 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, Kan.

He was born in Salina, Kan., on October 18, 1942, the only child of Paul and Aileen (Patterson) Bond.

Steve graduated from Plainville High School in 1960, and then served in the Army from January 1964 to November 1964 when he received a medical discharge. Two years later, he met and married Mary Hannah Page. They were partners in marriage for 56 years.

Georgiana Magdalen Herrman, age 84, passed away October 8, 2022, at Lamar Court Assisted Living, Overland Park.

She was born on February 2, 1938, in rural Rush County, Kansas, to Isidore and Albertina (Legleiter) Herrman. She married Francis A. Herrman on August 24, 1956, at Liebenthal. He died January 22, 1990.

Sandra Elaine Hubbard, age 66, of Salina, Kansas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

Sandra was born on June 14, 1956 in Hays, Kansas to Vernell Arends and Norma Pauline Ives. Sandra was lovingly raised by her grandparents Harold and Hilma (Fisher) Ives. Sandra graduated from Stockton High School. Soon after graduation Sandra began raising her family. She married Joseph Vane Hubbard on October 26, 1980 in Denver, Colorado and together, they raised four children. He survives at the home.

Heaven has claimed the life of Joy C. Johnson of Manhattan, Kansas. She was 83 years old and died peacefully on October 4, 2022, at Meadowlark Hills. She fought a battle with cancer for the last year.

Joy was born on May 1, 1939 in Plainville, Kansas to Louis and Opal Hrabe. She was a graduate of Stockton High School, Class of 1957. She moved to Manhattan to attend Manhattan Christian College where she met the love of her life, Dennis Johnson. They were married on December 20, 1958.

Our father John Henry Schruben passed away peacefully at a hospice in Maryland on Sept. 30, 2022. He was 96 years old, and the last of his generation in our large family.

He was born in Stockton, Kansas, on January 19, 1926, the fourth child of Leonard John Schruben and Edna Mary (McKanna) Schruben.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Margaret (Sr. Bernard Marie, Sisters of St. Joseph), and Leo, and Katherine (Becker). Also preceding him in death were his wife of 58 years, Christine Frances (Copt) Schruben, and two grandchildren Tucker and Alana.

Clara Mae (Wright) Riffel of Stockton, KS, passed away on October 3, 2022, at the Solomon Valley Manor in Stockton at the age of 91.

She was born on June 10, 1931, to Irvin Day and Lula (Jennings) Wright in Pittsfield, Mass. She was married to Donald Eugene Riffel on October 26, 1952, in Stockton. They were blessed with three sons: Larry, Steve, and Randy.

Scott Lee Redmon, age 68, passed away on October 2, 2022, in Oberlin, KS with his family by his side.

He was born on February 5, 1954, in Greeley, Colo., to Melvin and Imogene (Green) Redmon.

Scott grew up in Greeley and Thornton, Colo., and in 1973 he graduated from Thornton High School. On May 25, 1974, Scott married Carol Groves in Loveland, Colo. He had several occupations and did a little bit of everything but really enjoyed farming. But most of all he loved to be with his family, go fishing, and listen and playing lots of music—especially the guitar.
