Phillipsburg resident David O. Baumgartner was born on January 17, 1950, in Russell, Kansas and passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022, at the Kansas Soldiers’ Home at Fort Dodge, Kansas. He was 72.
Survivors include his wife Jackie of Phillipsburg; son James Baumgartner and wife Amber of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters Mandra Imm of Phillipsburg and Megan Rau and husband Jeff of Long Beach, Calif.; brothers Tony Clements and Wes Clements of Denver, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Michael L. “Mike” Howell, age 72, Hays, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022, at home with his family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Sandra “Sandy” Jean Linenberger of Salina, Kan. passed away October 6, 2022 at the age of 58.
She was born December 20, 1963 in Hays, Kan. to Don and Shirley Leikam. On April 13, 1991, she was united in marriage to David Linenberger.
Sandy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed painting, reading, and mostly spending time with her family.
Robert Eugene Groff, age 65, passed away October 15, 2022, at Russell Regional Hospital, Russell, Kansas.
He was born November 9, 1956, in Hays, Kansas, the son of Albert and Dolores (Dawson) Groff.
Robert grew up in Hays, Kansas, and worked for his father hauling trash and then later for Ideal Refuge with Hammie and Billy Rupp. He often remarked on how he loved his trash truck days and was proud of the work he did. He later worked as a pumper for his father-in-law, Gerald Michaelis Oil.
Evelyn Marie Werth, age 97, residing at The Piper, Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in Kansas City.
She was born August 2, 1925, to Adam B. and Susie G. (Adam) Garvert. She married Edwin W. Werth on Aug. 30, 1950, in Plainville, Kansas.
She was a member of the Schoenchen Altar Society and St. Joseph Church of Hays for many years.
Rodney “Rod” Blickenstaff passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Smith Center Health and Rehab in Smith Center, Kansas, at the age of 65.
He was born April 29, 1957 to Lowell and Ardyus (Lambert) Blickenstaff. Rod grew up in rural Smith County and graduated from Smith Center High School. He later graduated with a degree in Auto Mechanics from NCKTS in Beloit.
