Body Donna Mae (Novotny) Hicks, 63, Stockton, passed away surrounded by loved ones on July 19, 2024, in Kearney, Nebraska. She was born at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Hutchinson, Kansas on May 2, 1961, to William J. Novotny and Dorothy M. (Irsik) Novotny.

Body Larry Lee McNames, 80, passed away on July 28, 2024, in Plainville. He was born on November 2, 1943, in Montrose, Colo. Larry was four years old when he was adopted by Harry and Regina (Beanblossom) McNames in Julesburg, Colo., in the summer of 1948.

Body Larry Martin “Walt” Newell, 80, a lifelong resident of Damar, passed away on July 21, 2024. He was born to Harvey and Docile Solange (Manny) Newell on March 30, 1944, on the family farm. He grew up with his five siblings: Myron, Glenn, Gary, Gloria, and Claudia.

Body David Wayne Riley, of Plainville, passed away on July 25, 2024, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, at the age of 64. He was born on April 11, 1960, to Lloyd Riley and Ima Kaye (Sutherland) Shaffer in Wichita, Kansas.

Body Charles L. Hein, also known as “Country Chuck”, of Stockton, passed away on June 18, 2024, at the University of Colorado Health Center in Aurora, Colo., at the age of 84. He was born on June 8, 1940, to Lawrence and Florence (Mitsch) Hein in Gary, Indiana.

Body Stanley John “Stan” Mayers, 65, Hays, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024 at HaysMed. He was born May 19, 1959, in Osborne, the son of Raymond and Laurine (Krier) Mayers.

Body Lifelong Phillips County resident, Lee Taylor, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Neb. at the age of 88. He was born February 1, 1936, in Phillips County, KS, the son of Hobart and Geneva (Ragsdale) Taylor. He was a farmer and rancher.
