As of Monday, June 27th the Stockton Farmers Union Elevator has taken in 55,000 bushels of wheat. The Woodston Coop has taken in 35,000 bushels with Jerry McReynolds bringing in the first load of wheat for this harvest.

The “Names On The Wall” articles that are featured in the Stockton Sentinel will be on hiatus for the month of July while writer Susan D. McFarland is on vacation. The plan is to start the series up again some time in August.

Kyle Hull was contracted as Stockton’s new business teacher for the 2022-2023 school year at the special school board meeting held on Monday, June 27th. He will also serve as the coathletic director, taking over Marcia Hrabe’s position upon her resignation.

(The following is taken from the unapproved June 7th Rooks County Commission regular meeting minutes.) The Rooks County Commission met in regular session. Commissioners present were John Ruder, Chairman, and Members Greg Balthazor and Tim Berland.

Heath, Shannon, Jayden and Kailyn Latham from Overland Park, and Lance and Sue Latham from Tulsa, Okla., were here this weekend to celebrate Dee’s birthday and Father’s Day with their parents, Dee and Sheila Latham.

The Kansas Department of Transportation has started a project to repair two bridges along I-70 in Trego County. Crews are repairing the westbound and eastbound I-70 bridges located near Ogallah at exit 135.

Appraiser Heather Poore was present at the Rooks County Commission meeting held on Tuesday, June 14th to ask for permission to hire an outside appraiser for the County for a business owner who feels his tax appraiser is too high. The cost is $2,000.

Just when you think nothing much is going on in Stockton, a couple of art projects in the works will soon begin to brighten up the town! A large Mural and a Barn Quilt Wall are two projects planned by the RoCo Arts Council, Inc. that you will want to be watching for.
