PRIDE Day held in Stockton

Body The Stockton High School students and faculty teamed up with Stockton PRIDE on Wednesday, April 27th for the annual PRIDE cleanup day. The students were out and about town throughout the day helping at several locations.

SHS Awards Banquet held

Body The Stockton High School Awards Banquet was held on Wednesday, April 27th at the high school gym. The evening began with a Welcome that was given by Lions Club President Amber Muir with refreshments sponsored by Tiger Nation and the Stockton Lions Club.
THE 2022 DARRELL AND SHEILA LATHAM SCHOLARSHIP FOR SUCCESS recipients were from left: Coryn Hahn, Delany Snyder, Olivia Dix, Sheila Latham, Rylan Basart and Savannah Gray. The seniors were awared their scholarships during the Awards Banquet held on Wednesday, April 27.

Fire north of town late Friday afternoon

Body The Stockton Fire Department was called to a fire approximately one-half to one mile north of Stockton near U.S. Highway 183. Please take caution if you're in the vicinity and watch for emergency vehicles.

Sign replacement project underway on I-70

Body Work has started on a traffic sign replacement project along I-70 in northwest Kansas. The Kansas Department of Transportation is replacing mile markers, route markers and other signage on I-70 starting near Ruleton in Sherman County and will end near Dorrance in Russell County.

Minor earthquake reported in Rooks County

Body A small earthquake was recorded late Monday, April 11th, in Rooks County, the Kansas Geological Survey reported. The 2.4-magnitude quake was detected at 11:36 p.m. Monday in the western part of the county, between Plainville and the Rooks-Graham County line.
