An alarming trend has begun following the release of enrollment numbers Tuesday, September 20, for USD 271 School District. For the second consecutive year, enrollment figures for USD 271 have shown a significant drop.

Cricket Schmidt from the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville was among the group of 33 students who graduated from the Kansas Hospital Association Leadership Institute on September 8. The event was held at the KHA Annual Convention Trade Show in Overland park, Kansas.

The one-cent sales tax to pay for the Stockton City Swimming Pool began on January 1st, 2017, with the new pool opening that summer on Tuesday, July 25th.

Old Business for the Stockton City Commission on Tuesday, September 20th, started with the approval of the Nex-Tech agreements with the City dealing with the service agreement and $1.00 per access line.

Meeting with the Rooks County Commissioners on Tuesday, September 20th was Ronda Morgan from the appraiser’s office. Morgan was in to get approval for the purchase of several shirts and sweatshirts for the office employees that had been ordered throughout the year.

The 2022 version of the Fly Kansas Air Tour will once again make a stop at Rooks County Regional Airport (RCP) on Friday, October 7. Anywhere from 30-40 planes will make the morning trip to RCP from their first stop of the morning at Augusta.

The fact that only 4.3 percent of all marathon runners ever qualify for the Boston Marathon proves just what a feat it is to accomplish. So being able to say you qualified for the world’s oldest annual marathon in the first marathon race you ever ran is even more amazing!

It’s time once again to scare up some Fall and Halloween fun at the Stockton PUMPKIN PATCH, which will pop up in the Stockton City Park located on west Highway 24, on Saturday, October 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Richard Schleicher Memorial Bull Riding event, held on Saturday, September 24th at the Phillipsburg Rodeo grounds, was a moving tribute to the young man whose life was tragically cut short in a car accident after he had competed at the Pendleton (Ore.)
