The Heartland Community Foundation, which serves Ellis, Rooks and Trego Counties, is accepting applications for spring grants. Online applications opened March 15 and are due Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

The Stockton Fire Department was called out twice on Monday, March 11th, for two out-of-control control burns. One burn was at P and Q Roads that started burning again after it was thought to be out.

Lt. Col. Jessica “Jess” (Stewart) Pratt was the recent recipient of the Polaris Award for Connection given to a Guardian in the Space Force who best represents that core Guardian value. She received her reward at the 2024 AFA Warfare Symposium held in Aurora, Colo. on February 12-14.
