Tiger harriers Cheyenne Hoeting and Mia Odle each placed in the top 10 of their respective races at the Norton cross country meet held last Thursday. Hoeting finished 8th in the women’s varsity race, while Odle was third in the women’s JV race.

Junior High Tiger results From trip to Lincoln

Last Thursday the Stockton Junior High Tigers traveled to Lincoln for volleyball and football action. The SJH Volleyball girls played a triangular with Natoma and Lincoln, defeating both teams. The Lady Tigers downed Natoma 25-10, 25-8, and defeated Lincoln 19-25, 25-23, 15-9.

The Stockton High School Lady Tigers Volleyball Team earned a split at the triangular held in Smith Center on Tuesday, September 19. The Lady Tigers defeated Oakley 25-15, 20-25, 25-15, but lost to Smith Center 19-25, 18-25. Their record now stands at 8-11 on the season.

From the late-‘50s to early-‘ 70s, those attending the motorcycle races which were held at the Rooks County Free Fair were fortunate to watch Sammy Tanner, aka “The Flying Flea” work his magic on the racetrack. Tanner, who, at that time, was a teenager from Texas, competed for a few years on the Midwest county fair circuit, tearing up the dirt tracks and making a quite a name for himself.

Tigers fall to Trego in home opener

On a beautiful night for football, the Stockton Tigers hosted the Trego Golden Eagles last Friday in the Tigers’ home opener. At the 9:28 mark of the opening quarter, Stockton got on the scoreboard first when freshman Isaac Thayer knocked the ball loose from a Golden Eagle player, and sophomore Emerson Lowry scooped it up and ran into the end zone for the six points.

Volleyball fans were treated to some exciting action last Tuesday night at Tiger Gymnasium where the Stockton Lady Tigers played host to Russell and Hoxie. The Lady Tigers gave their opponents good games, but came up short in both matches to fall to 7-6 on the season.
