Class 3-1A Girls and Boys State Wrestling returns to FHSU

The Kansas State High School Activities Association recently released the sites for the state wrestling tournaments. The 3-1A girls and boys tournaments will return to Fort Hays State University in Hays. Last year both the boys and girls state tourneys were held at the Tony’s Event Center in Salina due to scheduling conflicts at Gross Memorial Coliseum. Up until last year, the KSHSAA State Wrestling Championships had been held at GMC for 50 years.

SJH Volleyball girls defeat Natoma and Osborne

TheStocktonJuniorHigh Volleyball Team hosted Natoma and Osborne in a triangular last Thursday with the Lady Tigers defeating both Natoma and Osborne in straight sets. Although it took them three sets, Stockton captured the hard-fought B-Team match, but came up just short in the C Team match, which also went three sets.

Lady Tiger harriers do well at Smith Center

After taking a week off and not running in their home meet, the Stockton Lady Tiger harriers had another good outing last Thursday in Smith Center. With a time of 22:47, Cheyenne Hoeting finished second in the varsity cross country race, while Mia Odle, who finished with at time of 28:22, crossed the finish line first in the junior varsity race.

SHS Lady Tigers place fourth at Russell Tourney

After starting the day off with two wins, the Stockton Lady Tigers ended up placing fourth at the Russell Volleyball Tournament held last Saturday. The Stockton girls went 2-3 on the day, moving their record to 12-4 on the season.
