On Saturday, May 31st, the Stockton Recreation Department held the 6th Annual Stockton Rec. The three-person fundraiser tournament was well-attended, with 26 teams participating. An additional ten teams signed up this year. The tournament is a big fundraiser for them, and they thanked the course for making it easy for them to organize the event.

Tigers qualify three for the state track meet

Three Tigers, Ava Dix, Cheyenne Hoeting and Saj Snyder, qualified for the 2025 State Track and Field Championships to be held this Friday and Saturday at Cessna Stadium in Wichita. The three ladies, along with Kale Kuhlmann, were the only for athletes from Stockton who competed at the 1A Regional Track Meet held in Oberlin last Thursday.
THE SHSTRACK ATHLETES competing at Regionals in Oberlin last Thursday were, from left: Coach Justin Basart, Ava Dix, Saj Snyder, Cheyenne Hoeting, Kale Kuhlmann, Coach Clint Bedore and Coach Janet Kuhlmann. The three ladies will be competing at the 2025 State Track and Field Championships in Wichita this weekend. Although Kale didn’t qualify for State, he PR’d in both the Javelin and 300 Meter Hurdles. Way to go, Tigers!

By Bill Scala Eighteen golfers braved high winds for the weekly Men’s Night on Tuesday, May 20th. The course was in great shape after receiving nearly an inch of rain that Sunday.

New school record at NPL Track Meet

Junior Cheyenne Hoeting set a new school record at the 2025 Northern Plains League Track Meet held last Friday, the 16th, in Mankato. Hoeting broke her own record in the 1600 Meter Run with a time of 5:38.11, earning her a silver medal at the meet. She also placed third in the 3200 Meter Run.

SHS Tigers compete in Grizzly Invitational

On Friday, May 9, the Stockton Tigers competed in the Grizzly Invitational track meet held in Mankato. Although no one brought home a gold medal, Ava Dix earned two silvers (100 Meters and Long Jump), and a bronze (200 Meters), Saj Snyder was second in the 300 Meter Hurdles, and Cheyenne Hoeting was third in the 3200 Meter Run.

Tigers compete in Kaser Relays

On Friday, April 25, the Stockton High School Track Team competed in the Kaser Relays at Osborne, along with 13 other squads. The Lady Tigers finished seventh as a team, while the Tiger boys were 12th. The Osborne girls and Clifton- Clyde boys won the Relays.

Busy week of softball for the RoCo squad

The RoCo Girls Softball Team has been very active recently, having played four doubleheaders in eight days. Unfortunately, the girls came out on the short end of each of the contests, but they nearly picked up a win in the second game of the doubleheader last Friday at Ellis, falling by just one point, 6-7. In the first game with the Lady Railers RoCo put 19 runs on the scoreboard, but fell 29-19.

Dix places first at Quinter Invitational

Senior Ava Dix was the only Tiger to bring home a gold medal at the Quinter Invitational last Friday, missing the Long Jump school record by just one-half inch. Junior Cheyenne Hoeting earned a bronze medal in the 3200 Meter Run, and also placed fourth in the 1600 Meter Run.
