The annual dove-hunting season in Kansas for mourning and whitewinged doves begins this Monday, September 1st, and runs until Saturday, November 29th. The daily bag limit of 15 applies to mourning and whitewinged doves, whether as a single species or in combination, with a possession limit of 45. There is no limit on Eurasian collared or ringed tailed doves, but any taken in addition to the mourning and white-winged dove daily bag must have a fully-feathered wing attached while being transported.

The 2025 Stockton High School Football Schedule showed the Tigers heading to Wa-Keeney this Friday for the annual Jamboree. However, Coach Justin Basart announced at last Friday’s Back-To-School Bash that the team preferred to have another practice before competing against other teams, and therefore they will not be participating in the Jamboree. The Tigers are scheduled to open their season at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, at Logan against Logan/ Palco.

The Stockton Lady Tigers Volleyball Team will open the 2025-26 season this Friday, August 29, in Natoma. They will take on Chase and host Natoma in a triangular set to begin at 4:00 p.m.

Two local wrestlers, Jevin Rush and Treyvonn Clark, made their mark at the Smoky Summer Smash, a unique outdoor tournament held August 2nd on Bethany College’s Anderson Football Field turf in Lindsborg. Competing under the summer sun instead of a traditional gym setting, both boys captured first place in their divisions.

The Stockton Tiger Sharks Swim Team made a splash at their final competition of the season, the Championship Swim Meet held in Lexington, Nebraska, on Saturday, July 19. With an impressive showing, the team secured 10 gold medals, showcasing the hard work and dedication of its athletes.
