The Stockton Junior High volleyball and football teams opened their seasons last Thursday in WaKeeney. The Lady Tigers’ A and B volleyball teams picked up wins on the court.
SHS Cross Country boys do well in Norton

The Stockton High School Cross Country boys had a successful first outing in Norton last Thursday. Freshman Jonathan Hamel finished fifth with a time of 19:14.69, while sophomore Cameron Lindsey’s time of 19:54.76. was good enough for 10th place. Junior Camden Iwanski battled leg cramping, but pushed through to finish with a time of 25:16.12.

Being chosen by a Longhorn defender, Tiger senior Leighton rolls out to his left looking to make a play in football action last Friday. The Stockton Tigers took the field in Kensington for their season opener against Thunder Ridge. Stockton lost the hard-fought battle in double overtime, 20-14.

SHS Football opens Friday against Thunder Ridge

The 2020 football season kicks off for the Stockton Tigers this Friday when they travel to Kensington to take on the Thunder Ridge Longhorns. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
SHS Volleyball season already underway

The Stockton Lady Tiger Volleyball season got underway last Saturday when the junior varsity squad traveled to Phillipsburg for a JV Tourney. Stockton went 2-1 on the day.
Tiger Cross Country seasons open this week

The Tiger Cross Country seasons open this week with the high school harriers traveling to Norton on Thursday, and the junior high runner on the road to TMP on Saturday. The meets are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. respectively.

This Thursday marks the opening of the Stockton Junior High Volleyball and Football seasons. The teams will travel to WaKeeney to take on the Trego Golden Eagles. Volleyball matches will begin at 4:00 p.m., while the football game will kick off at 6:00 p.m.

Parker Krob of Stockton (left) won this year’s Rooks County Men’s Association Golf Tournament held August 14 & 15 at Rooks County Golf Course after shooting an impressive 4 under 136 for the tournament. Kelly Stewart, right, last year’s winner, presented Parker with the trophy.
