Hamel places fourth in XC meet at Webster

Freshman Jonathan Hamel crossed the finish line in fourth place at the cross country meet at Webster State Park last Thursday. The event was hosted by Stockton High School. Hamel ran the 5K course in a time of 19.16.78, averaging 6:12 a mile. Tiger harrier Cameron Lindsey, a sophomore, came in 20th with a time of 21:16.16, for a 6:50.3 mile average.

Lady Tigers fall in triangular

The Stockton Lady Tigers hosted Hoxie and Smith Center last Tuesday in a triangular, with the home team falling in both matches. The Lady Tigers were defeated by Hoxie 14-25, 24-26, and by Smith Center 7-25, 8-25. The match between Hoxie and Smith Center was won by the Lady Red of Smith Center 25-12, 25-15.

Tigers fall to Logan/Palco in home opener, 30-7

A large and enthusiastic crowd gathered at Tiger Stadium last Friday for Stockton’s home opener and Senior Night. After suffering a tough loss last week in double overtime, the Tigers were hoping to even their record, but it didn’t happen.

Lady Tigers go 2-1 at Trego Invitational

The Stockton Lady Tigers picked up two wins on Saturday at the Trego Invitational Volleyball Tournament to improve to 2-5 on the season. Stockton defeated Russell in the first match by scores of 15-25, 25-21, 25-13, fell to Osborne 21-25, 17-25, and downed Northern Valley 25-11, 25-20.

Tiger Junior High Teams win big over Logan/Palco

The Stockton Junior High volleyball and football teams each picked up big wins last Thursday over the visiting Logan/Palco Trojans. In volleyball action the Lady Tigers swept Logan/ Palco with the A Team winning 25-8, 25-13, and the B Team coming out on top 25-17, 25-17.
TIGER EIGHTH GRADER HUNTER HOWELL gets by his defender on his way to another big run. Howell scored several touchdowns in Stockton’s 88-56 win over Logan/Palco last Thursday evening at Tiger Stadium.

SHS Tigers suffer loss to Thunder Ridge in 2 OT

The Stockton Tigers suffered a heartbreaking loss in their season opener at Kensington last Friday, as they were defeated in double overtime by the Thunder Ridge Longhorns, 20-14. Stockton put the first points on the scoreboard when a big run by senior Jace Hull set the Tigers up near the goal line.
TIGER JUNIOR RYLAN BASART scored the first points of the game when he kicked the ball through the uprights from 32 yards out to give Stockton a 3-0 lead over the Longhorns. Holding the ball for Basart was senior teammate Troy Rogers. The Tigers went on to fall in double overtime to Thunder Ridge by the score of 20-14.

Parker Krob mentioned in Catch It Kansas Preview

Plainville High School senior Parker Krob was recently named in the Top 20 of the Catch It Kansas Season Preview: Specialists To Watch list. Krob, long known for this excellent golfing ability, is responsible for carrying on the Cardinals’ strong kicking tradition after multi-time all-state kicker Tanner Copeland graduated.

SHS Lady Tigers fall In Season Opener

The Stockton Lady Tigers traveled to Ellis last Tuesday for their season opener with Phillipsburg and the host Lady Railers. Stockton came out on the short end of both matches, falling to Ellis 6-25, 16-25, and losing to Phillipsburg 8-25, 11-25.
