Disheartening end to Tiger Boys’ Cinderella season

The Stockton Tiger boys’ Cinderella season came to a disheartening end last Thursday evening when word was received that the Kansas State High School Activities Association had canceled all the state basketball tournaments following the quarterfinal rounds.
TIGER JUNIOR ETHAN MEANS scored 14 points in Stockton’s win over previously unbeaten Elbing-Berean Academy in the quarterfinals of the state basketball tournament.

Hunter Howell will be competing for his fourth State Championship in Topeka this Saturday and Sunday after placing first in the USAWKS 2020 District 4 Championship Tournament held on Saturday, March 7th, at Hays Gross Memorial Coliseum.
SWC MEMBER Hunter Howell will be making his fourth trip to the State Wrestling Championship in Topeka on Saturday and Sunday after placing first in the District 4 Championship this past weekend in Hays.

Larks host the West basketball tournament

The West Regional Basketball Tournament in Plainville began its opening ceremony Saturday, February 15. The National Anthem was played on the trumpet by Kaiden Van Schuyver, followed by the Special Olympic’s oath was led by James Boehnke and signed by Chance Maes.
STOCKTON’S Sydney Axelson, a member of the Solomon Valley ARC Larks team, participated in the West Regional Basketball Tournament in Plainville Feb. 15th. Axelson received gold medals in Individual Skills and Speed Dribble.

Tiger Boys are State Bound!

For the first time since 2015, the Stockton Tiger Boys are bound for the KSHSAA Class 1A State Basketball Tournament after defeating the Greeley County Jackrabbits 51-33 in the finals of the substate tourney at Russell on Saturday. The Tigers (14-11) are the eighth seed at State and will face topseeded and undefeated Elbing-Berean Academy (25-0) this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the United Wireless Arena in Dodge

HUDSYN HAGAN took first place in the 45-lb. and under weight class at the District 4 Tournament in York, Nebraska. This win qualified him to go to State in two weeks. Hudsyn is the grandson of Corky and Linda Hagan.

Season ends for Lady Tigers with loss to Thunder Ridge

The Stockton Lady Tigers’ basketball season came to an end last Friday night following their 56-39 loss to the undefeated and top-ranked Thunder Ridge Lady Longhorns in the semifinals of the KSHSAA Class 1A Regional Basketball Tournament held at Rock Hills High School in Mankato.
