Body The Crossroads Quilt Guild monthly meeting was brought to order on Monday, May 17th at 6:30 p.m. with food provided by Terrii Collins and Jennifer Guffey. Motion made by Stephanie Hart and seconded by Lynda Falley to accept the minutes as printed. Motion passed.

Fire call, but not for a fire

Body A fire call went out over the radio on Thursday morning, June 10th at approximately 9:05 a.m. to the Woodston Fire Department. A second call for mutual aid to the Stockton Fire Department went out at 9:12 a.m. to help with a large spill of anhydrous ammonia east of Woodston.

Macy Odle named to CCCC Spring 2021 Honor Roll

Body Macy Odle of Stockton was named to the Cloud County Community College Spring 2021 Honor Roll. To be named to this honor roll, students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours of college coursework and earn a semester grade point average of 3.6-3.899.

Body Rooks County Health Center (RCH) is now recognized as part of a movement to improve health care for older adults, contributing to an initial goal of 20 percent of all U.S. hospitals and health systems becoming agefriendly.

Commissioners receive update on county roads

Body Road and bridge supervisor Rich Bouchey was present at the regular weekly meeting of the Rooks County Commission held on Tuesday, June 1st. After presenting the commissioners with the low fuel bid from Midland Marketing, Inc. in the amount of $14,385.

Memorial Day Visitors

Body The Purdum household saw several visitors during the Memorial Day weekend. Willard and Tiffany arrived around noon on Saturday—early enough for Isabelle and Violet to take part in the Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest.
