The Farmers Union Elevator has taken in 353,000 bushels of milo; 149,000 bushels of corn and 26,000 bushels of soybeans as of Monday, November 7th. The Woodston Coop’s numbers are 239,000 bushels of milo; 158,000 bushels of corn; and 32,000 bushels of soybeans.

DSNWK Celebrates Successes at Awards Luncheon

Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas hosted its annual awards luncheon in Hays on October 18th. Awards were given throughout the afternoon to staff, persons served, and community members. The first awards were given to employees of DSNWK for their years of service. Addie Struckhoff awarded $500.00 Scholarship

Recently, Stockton High School senior Addie Struckhoff was awarded a $500.00 SAFE (Seatbelts Are For Everyone) Scholarship for her zoom presentation in the SAFE Speaks Competition. SAFE is a free, student- led program for high school students focusing on peer-to-peer promotion of traffic safety.

The Kansas Cold Weather Rule takes effect November 1

The Cold Weather Rule, designed to help Kansans who are behind on their utility payments avoid disconnection during the winter months, began Tuesday, November 1 and remain in effect through March 31. With energy costs expected to rise this winter, the protections offered by the Cold Weather Rule could be more critical than ever in keeping individu-als and families safe and connected.

Another earthquake in Rooks County

A small earthquake was recorded last Thursday, October 27, in southern Rooks County, the Kansas Geological Survey reported. The 2.3-magnitude quake was detected at 4:25 p.m.

As of Monday, October 31st, the Stockton Farmers Union Elevator has taken in 132,000 bushels of corn, 281,000 bushels of milo and 25,200 bushes of soybeans. Woodston Coop has taken in 154,000 bushels of corn, 146,000 bushels of milo and 32,000 bushels of soybeans.
