Body Have you ever thought about the District Court and what it does? This is the information we got from Lindsey Mongeau. She’s worked for the district court for 10 years. First, it’s called a district court because it represents a district of Kansas.

Body By Raineigh Hunerguard and Amberleigh Jurgens Have you ever wondered what the Extension office does? The Extension office tells people about plants and animals. There are six people who work in the department.

Body By Ayla Terry, Maddy Swaney, & Carter Martin When we went to the courthouse we learned about Kim Northup and her job. She works with the Rooks County Treasurer’s Department. In her job, she collects the money and does drivers’ licenses.

Body By Addie Johnston, Cole Flower, and Zoey Toll The Register of Deeds is important in our community. We interviewed April Brown. She has been the Register of Deeds for three years, working 11 years in the office. Two people work in the office, her and her assistant.

Body By Henry Berkley and Madi Kephart Do you want to know what the County Clerk does? Laura Montgomery does budget for Rooks County. She is the County Clerk.

Body What does the County Appraiser do? The County Appraiser sets value for purposes of taxes. Three people work in the County Appraiser office plus Heather Poore. To be a county appraiser, they have to have three years of experience.
