The Stockton Fire Department was called out on Thursday, June 15th, at 6:12 p.m. for an insulator pole on fire due to a power shortage at 216 North Elm (Stockton Methodist Church). The volunteers had the fire out and under control in less than five minutes.

No doubt you are aware of the purpose of laws. If we didn’t have laws, what would keep anyone from doing anything and suffering no consequences? Likewise, in Christianity, there is a purpose in the law. If we didn’t have the law, then what is sin?

SINKHOLE(?). It might not technically be a sinkhole, but the house our son recently bought had an interesting hole in the backyard. It was about 2 ft by 3 ft and about 6 or 7 feet deep.

Before the Stockton USD 271 Board of Education held six executive sessions to discuss non-elected personnel dealing with resignations, classified staff, certified staff, student matters, and supplementals, starting at 6:45 p.m. and ending at 9:15 p.m.

Tree Health Following Drought The drought was and continues to be a hot topic for many in this area. For some moisture levels have returned to more normal; however, residents should remain cautious. We often fret about the health of our lawns and gardens, but what about trees?
