Last Sunday afternoon, I had the pleasure of eating lunch with my sisterin- law Michelle, her gorgeous daughter Ava, my in-laws, and the Farmer, at Thirsty’s in Hays. We went in for a delicious lunch and enjoyed nachos, quesadillas, burgers, steak, fried shrimp, and onion rings that should have been crowned king of the table. They were so good! Then the Farmer and I went to DQ to get some ice cream to round it all out. We headed home after all that eating and all the fun, in the crazy 60 mph winds and dust storms. I managed to squeeze in a tiny four-hour nap once we got home. Honestly, it was the kind of Sunday that reminds you that family, food, and a good long rest are the perfect recipe for a memorable afternoon.

“The man who was blind went off and washed himself and came back able to see.” On the fourth Sunday of Lent, known as 'Rejoice Sunday,' the entire liturgy invites us to experience a profound joy and great happiness at the approaching Easter. The theme for Sunday’s readings was “Sin and Salvation.” In the Gospel from John 9:1-41, Jesus taught about light and darkness, sight and blindness, symbols of sin and salvation.

You have probably heard the phrase “having a clear conscience” used to describe someone who feels free of guilt or remorse for something they did or failed to do. A clear conscience comes only through faith in Jesus, whose sacrifice atones for our sins and restores our relationship with God.
