The list of the 2026 Rooks County Free Fair Board members were presented to the Rooks County Commissioners on Tuesday, March 17th, by fair board secretary Anna Luna. Serving on the Board are president Jessica Iwanski, first vice president Kelly Muir, second vice president Tom Benoit, secretary Anna Luna, treasurer Kyleigh Stice, Brian Pelton, Caroline Keas, David Pieper, Dean Hrabe, Doug Keas, Henry Sander, Jason Ochampaugh, Jeff Keller, Jerry Miller, Jessi Plante, Jodi Barker-Cole, Joe Becker, Kirk Green, Laura Moffet, Leonard Bristow, Mark Axelson, Ruthie Muir, Shawn Roy, Steve Riffel, Trevor Miller, and commissioner Tim Berland.

The Council of the City of Woodston met in the Council Chamber at the City Hall on Monday, March 9th, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Kenny Lay called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Average gasoline prices in Kansas have risen 13.7 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.25/g today, according to Gas-Buddy's survey of 1,329 stations in Kansas. Prices in Kansas are 73.6 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 45.5 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has increased 27.0 cents compared to a week ago and stands at $5.227 per gallon, the highest level since November 24, 2022.

“I am the resurrection and the life.” In Sunday’s Gospel reading from John 11:145, we reflect upon what it means to call Jesus the Resurrection and the life and to acknowledge Jesus’ power over death, evidenced in the raising of Lazarus from the dead, and to anticipate Jesus’ conquering of death once and for all in His death and Resurrection. Jesus has been in Jerusalem, celebrating the feast of the Dedication (now known as Hanukkah), and the people have been pressing Him to declare plainly whether He is the Messiah.
