(The following is taken from the May 23rd, 2023 unapproved Rooks County Health Center regular Board of Directors meeting.) Jeff Van Dyke called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. The other board members present were Charles Allphin, Charles Comeau, Brad Plumer and Jon Voss.

We received three showers this past week totaling almost .60 of an inch. So it's good listening to the falling rain, and our country is green, keeping mowers in business.

The boys and girls loved getting their hands dirty by planting succulent gardens, and learning all about the importance of soil and how it is formed. The Theme Garden Day Camp was held on Friday, June 23rd, at the Harding Hall 4-H building in Stockton. Matt MacConnell continued to teach Romans 8 this week, beginning with the observation, “We are always at war with the sinful flesh.” In Romans, Paul divides people into two categories: those who let themselves be controlled by their sinful nature and those who follow after the Holy Spirit. All of us would be in the first category if Jesus didn’t offer us a way out. And as we see in Romans 8:8, “That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.”

What better way to combine a team-building experience with some fun than to mix in a trip to Kansas City to see the Royals play baseball? That is precisely what Solutions North Bank President and CEO Dale Winklepleck did for his employees and spouses when he planned the weekend event. Winklepleck rented two dugout suites and a signature suite to have the best seats in the house to watch an incredible baseball game between the Royals and Los Angeles Angels on Saturday, June 17th.

Rooks County Health Center (RCH) has added another vehicle to its fleet, this time in the service of pediatric care and comfort. A radio-controlled car is operated by an RCH staff member at all times when some of the younger patients are 'driving' to surgery or other procedures that might seem bewildering or even somewhat scary.

As of Sunday, July 2nd, the Stockton Farmers Union Elevator has 95,000 bushels of wheat brought in by the area farmers. Woodston Coop stands at 53,000 bushels of wheat.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) issued their latest public health advisory update due to blue-green algae last Friday morning, June 23.
