Graham County Fair and Jayhawker Roundup Rodeo kicks off this Saturday

Saddle up and get ready to “stirrup” some fun at this year’s Graham County Fair (July 28th through August 2nd) and Jayhawker Roundup Rodeo (July 31st through August 2nd). Some of the things to see and do at this year’s Fair include a Corn Hole Tournament, livestock judging and auction, 4-H and Open Class Livestock Show, a Kids Pedal Tractor Pull, an inflatable carnival (one night only), a downtown parade, a free BBQ, kids’ carnival games, and free live music every night provided by Steven Bankey and the Flatland Band, Crutch Pedal, and Jimmy Dee and the Fabulous Destinations (Check out times and dates for when each band performs).

Nine Kansas lakes are under a blue-green algae warning or watch status

Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) issued their latest public health advisory update on Friday, July 14, due to blue-green algae. Webster Lake (Reservoir), which has been in a “Warning Advisory” for blue-green algae for nearly two months, has now been lifted.
