(The following article is from the unapproved September 11th Woodston City Council minutes, including the RNR and Budget Hearings.) The Council of the City of Woodston met in the Council Chamber at the City Hall on Monday, September 11th, 2023, at 7:00 p.m.

The Rooks County Historical Society and Museum’s mission statement begins with a promise to “collect, preserve, and interpret the artifacts, writings and history.” The statement also includes preserving the culture of Rooks County.

Dale Anderson: “‘Confusion’ said flies are very intelligent creatures. When you get a fly swatter, they disappear…until you hang the swatter back up, that is.” Venita Cole, Ellinwood: “Just so you know, I think you all do a great job with the newspaper.

There will be a regular USD 271 Board of Education meeting on Monday, October 9, beginning at 5:30 p.m., at the District Office.

Come in and check us out!!! The library received some great news!! They received a gift of 100 new children's books, ranging from pre-kindergarten through early readers.

The Hobart Homemakers FCE group met Monday, September 25, 2023, at the Stockton Church of the Restoration at 7:00 pm Susan G. opened us with the flag salute. The roll call was 'What food is good brain food?' Eight members answered it. The minutes and treasurer's report were read and approved.
