MATH IS FUN. That's been my attitude for as long as I can remember. In junior high, our math teacher challenged us to write out Roman numerals over a weekend, with a prize going to the person who wrote the most. I still have the thesaurus that I won—by far. So, yeah, math is fun.

It seems unbelievable that I would be celebrating my 98th birthday, but it is now a reality and for that I thank the good Lord. I want to sincerely thank everyone of you for remembering me with birthday wishes.

Philisene Probasco lived in a world, or rather a time that most of us have never seen. She walked home from school in the dirt storms of the Dirty Thirties. She saw the men in her family go off to fight in World War II. She remembers learning to drive in a '49 Ford coupe.
