It’s time once again to scare up some spooky fun at the Stockton PUMPKIN PATCH, which will pop up in the Stockton City Park located on West Highway 24, on Saturday, October 12th, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

It’s time to start thinking about ideas and preparing for the 40th annual Parade of Christmas Trees at the Stockton Public Library! The Chamber asks for the town’s help to make this display bigger and better than ever by having organizations, businesses, classes, or individuals decorate a tree. This year’s theme is “Old Time Christmas with Nutcracker Style.” People can follow the theme or choose whatever they wish for their tree decorations.

Calling all sixth- through twelfth-grade students to the River Valley Church at 120 South Spruce on Friday, October 11th, for the 60 Minutes Football Overtime. Plan to have some fun with your friends after Stockton’s home football game with a meal, devotions, and games.

Now is the time to do your fall cleaning! The Stockton Citywide Cleanup (inside city limits customers only) will be held during the week of Monday, October 14th through Friday October 18th. Regular trash routes will be picked up as normally scheduled with additional city trucks following to pick up furniture, tree branches, appliances (Freon must be drained from refrigerators), yard waste, and tires (limit 5, anything over the five-tire limit will be charged landfill prices).

The menus for the week beginning Monday, September 30, are as follows: Monday—Pork cube steak, stewed tomatoes, bread, tropical fruit. Tuesday through Friday’s menus were not made available prior to press time.

The Heartland Community Foundation, dedicated to supporting Ellis, Rooks, and Trego counties, is excited to announce the opening of its fall grant cycle. As of September 15, applications can be submitted online until 11:59 p.m.

The family of Daryl and Dee Thornburg request a Card Shower to honor them on their upcoming 50th Wedding Anniversary. Daryl Thornburg and Dee Niermeier were married on September 27, 1974, at the Grace Lutheran Church in Atwood by Pastor Steube.
