The Stockton Sentinel is asking the SHS Seniors for a framed 8x10 photo for the annual window display. Please drop off your pictures at the high school office before the end of April, so we can carry on this tradition!

Citywide Cleanup April 28th through May 2nd

It’s spring-cleaning time! A Stockton City-Wide Cleanup (trash customers within the Stockton City limits) will be held during the week of April 28th through May 2nd. Trash routes will be picked up as regularly scheduled, with additional city trucks following to pick up furniture, tree branches, appliances (Freon must be drained from refrigerators), yard waste, and tires (limit 5, anything over the fivetire limit will be charged landfill prices).

Potato Bar Fundraiser Set for Saturday, April 26th

Mark your calendars to support the River Valley Youth as they raise funds to attend a Youth Camp! Join them for a freewill offering baked potato bar with a dessert and drink at the River Valley Church, located at 120 South Spruce Street in Stockton, on Saturday, April 26th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The menus for the week beginning Monday, April 14, are as follows: Monday— Pork fritter, mashed potatoes and gravy, broccoli, bread, mixed fruit. Tuesday—Taco salad with lettuce and tomatoes, chips, tropical fruit, pudding. Wednesday—Chicken alfredo pasta, California blend vegetables, garlic bread, fruit crisp. Thursday—Ground beef stroganoff, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, strawberry shortcake. Friday—Hamburger patty with lettuce, tomato, and onion, three-beans salad, bun, gelatin with fruit.

If you ask an average elementary school student what their favorite part of the school day is, you are likely to hear, “recess!” Recess serves as a crucial brain break for students, enabling them to be more productive in the classroom. Research indicates that playing outside offers numerous health benefits as well as opportunities for developing social-emotional skills.
