The Farmers Union Mercantile and Shipping Association in Stockton will be closed on Monday, December 26th in observance of Christmas, and Monday, January 2nd in observance of the New Year. Please get your feed and fuel orders in early! (Look for the ad in this week’s edition.) .

The Stockton Sentinel will be closed for Christmas on Friday, December 23rd and Monday, December 26th. We will be open Tuesday, December 27 through Thursday, December 29th but will be closed on Friday, December 30th for the New Year holiday.

The menus for the Stockton Senior Center for the week beginning Monday, December 19, are as follows: Monday—Chicken strips, hashbrown casserole, brussel sprouts, bread, peaches. Tuesday— Ham slice, sweet potato casserole, winter blend vegetables, roll, cranberry fluff. Wednesday— Goulash, cabbage, carrots, onion, bread, hot cinnamon apple slices.

Week of December 19 Breakfast Monday—Cook’s Choice, fruit, juice, milk. Tuesday—Breakfast pizza, fruit, juice, milk.

There will be a government surplus commodities distribution on Monday, December 19th for those in the Stockton and Plainville areas. In Stockton, the distribution will be held on Monday, December 19th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the VFW Hall. You are asked to please enter through the front door at 314 Main Street.

December 26th will mark 50 years of marriage for Roger and Gwen Cooper! With their children, grandkids and great-grandkids home for the Christmas holidays and to celebrate their anniversary, the family will be reunited to not only honor their parents on this very special occasion, but the family will once again perform their traditional 'Cooper Family Christmas Concert.'
