Commodities distribution on Mon., Jan. 23rd

There will be a government surplus commodities distribution on Monday, January 23rd for those in the Stockton and Plainville areas. In Stockton, the distribution will be held on Monday, January 23rd from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the VFW Hall. You are asked to please enter through the front door at 314 Main Street.

2023 Rooks County Landfill rates increase

The Rooks County Landfill rates increased as of January 1st, 2023. The rates are as follows: Minimum rate is $10.00; Municipal Waste is $40.00 a ton with a minimum weight of 500 pounds (under 500 pounds has a minimum charge of $10.00); and Construction Waste is $30.00 a ton with a minimum weight of 680 pounds (under 680 pounds has a minimum charge of $10.00).

Nova Theatre looking for managers

The Nova Theatre Board is looking for a few managers for the facility. Managers sign up once a month and oversee the theatre operations, which includes running the ticket booth and counting the money from the ticket sales and concession stand for that evening.
