An Old-Fashioned Christmas

An Old-Fashioned Christmas By Helen Monnette I thought of an old-fashioned Christmas When the world was aglitter with snow. When stars, in their blankets of velvet, Their silvery beams rain below.

Would You Rather?

Body
Would You Rather? * Would you rather build a snowman or decorate a Christmas tree? * Would you rather have hot cocoa with marshmallows or a candy cane? * Would you rather get one big present or lots of small presents? * Would you rather go sledding or have a snowball fight? * Would you rather wear cozy pajamas or an ugly Christmas sweater? * Would you rather decorate outside with lights or blowups? * Would you rather have a themed Christmas tree or one with hodge podge decorations? * Would you rather sing Christmas carols or watch a Christmas movie? * Would you rather eat a Christmas ham or a Christmas turkey? * Would you rather open presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning? * Would you rather watch “Rudolph, the Red-osed Reindeer” or “How The Grinch Stole Christmas?” * Would you rather visit the North Pole or Santa’s Workshop? * Would your rather bake Christmas cookies or make a gingerbread house? * Would you rather have a Christmas cruise or an all-inclusive Christmas vacation? * Would you rather have colored lights or clear lights on your tree? * If Santa’s reindeer got lost, which animal would you choose to pull the sleigh instead? * If you caught an elf sneaking snacks in the kitchen, what do you think they’d be eating? * If Christmas trees could talk, what do you think yours would say about your decorating skills? * If you could create a new Christmas tradition, what silly thing would everyone have to do? * If you were Santa, what’s the first rule you’d make for all the elves in the workshop?.

This ‘n That

Body
This and That * My favorite color in the whole world is different shades of blue, but for the past couple of weeks I am 100% loving the color red! * And to those who said they would move out of the United States if President-elect Donald Trump won, I can help pack your bags. * Isiah Pacheco, I have been waiting patiently for your return! Get strong, and come back when you are 110%! I can wait to watch you run, but could you do me a favor and at least stand on the sidelines at the home games? And don’t be surprised when I show up at your Youth Football Camp next May in Wichita! It is for girls and boys ages 6-16, but I think I can move those numbers around and make it work for me! * I hope that during the Inauguration in January, they play some of the late Toby Keith songs in his honor and memory since he was one of the entertainers who performed at President Trump’s first Inauguration.

This ‘n That

Body
This and That I liked this post and the comments. The post read “What if James Brown didn‘t feel good?” “What if Journey stopped believing?” and “What if the Devil never went down to Georgia?” Please keep it going in the comments.” Here are some of the comments: What if the Hokey Pokey isn’t what it’s all about? What if Caroline wasn’t so sweet? What if the rain wasn’t purple? What if Aretha didn’t demand Respect? What if Whitney didn’t want to dance with somebody? What if you hit me with your worst shot? What if they don’t stop in the name of love? What if Tina Turner knew what love had to do with it? What if Gladys never took the midnight train to Georgia? What if doves never cried? What if Gladys didn’t hear it through the grapevine? What if Dolly didn’t always love you? What if Queen weren’t the champions? What if Aerosmith didn’t dream on? What if there was nowhere over the rainbow? What if Tina never left a good job in the city? What if Jeremiah wasn’t a bullfrog? What if Mary didn’t have a little lamb? What if Air Supply wasn’t all out of love? What if Bon Jovi didn’t live on a prayer? What if we know where all the flowers have gone? What if Sammy Hagar could drive 55? What if there is no dust in the wind? What if The Beach Boys didn’t want Rhonda’s help? What if you didn’t wear your sunglasses at night? What if Lionel Richie never said Hello? What if Eric Clapton shot the deputy and not the sheriff? What if we didn’t party like it was 1999? What if the music never died? What if girls didn’t want to have fun? What if I wasn’t hooked on a feeling? What if the mouse never went up the clock? What if Humpty Dumpty didn’t sit on the wall? What if there was no ring around the rosey? What if The Beatles didn’t want to hold your hand? What if The Monkees weren’t believers? What if Brandy wasn’t a fine girl? What if ABC wasn’t as easy as 123? I could go on and on with the comments, but one thing I have to say is I sang or hummed a little bit of all these songs as I was typing this editorial.
