Hello June! It’s June! School is out, and the endless days of summer are finally here! And don’t forget to celebrate some of these national holidays during the month…. Since I am a few days behind in naming some of the June holidays, here are a few that have already been observed, but feel free to celebrate them if you choose to do so: Dare Day, Flip a Coin Day, Oscar the Grouch Day, Rocky Road Ice Cream Day, Doughnut Day, Hot Air Balloon Day, and Cancer Survivors Day.

This and That * I like this….If you had to choose between eating tacos every day or being skinny for the rest of your life—would you choose hard or soft tacos? * I saved all my hollyhock seeds last year and planted every one of them by my back fence on the west side of my house last fall. Nothing new has popped up there this year except for one lone plant that decided to grow in my ROCK driveway clear on the east side of my yard! * Another reason to love actor Henry Cavill.

And yes, I am that old that I remember Howard. * I want to express my appreciation to the teachers and staff members that I rely on every year for sending me information about the students’ activities, sending pictures, identifying students in pictures, etc.

Prom! When I was a junior many, many years ago, our prom theme was “Pieces of April.” The event was held in the high school gym, and our junior class sponsor was Mr. H.

This And That * I always write about the music I love but haven’t said much about Country singers. Well, I have quite a few favorites in that genre as well, starting with who I can think of off the top of my head: Toby Keith, George Strait, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Charley Pride, Marty Robbins, Travis Tritt, Montgomery Gentry, Alabama, and The Judds.

This and That * Alligators can live up to 70 years, which is why there is a good chance that they will see you later. * Instead of watching the Academy Awards this year— okay—I haven’t watched them in like forever—I watched the 2024 MovieGuide Awards on the Great American Family Channel.
