The St. Thomas Knights of Columbus held its Free Throw Contest in the Stockton High School Gym on Sunday, January 26th, with sixteen boys and girls participating.
The Stockton Junior High Tigers are back in action this Thursday, traveling to Kensington to take on Thunder Ridge in their final game of the regular season. On Saturday, February 1, Pike Trails League Tournament action begins in Mankato, and will continue on February 3, 6 and 8.
The Stockton Lady Tigers finished fourth in the 2025 Northern Plains League Basketball Tournament held last week in Lincoln and Tescott after being defeated by the Sylvan- Lucas Lady Mustangs 49-35 in the contest for third place. The third-seeded Lady Tigers opened the tournament on Monday with a 45-39 win over Pike Valley, but fell to the Osborne Lady Bulldogs in the semifinals on Tuesday by the score of 50-31, before losing to fifth-seeded Sylvan- Lucas on Friday.
The Stockton Tiger wrestlers competed on the mats last Saturday, with Ryan Mongeau (285) taking second in the 40th Annual Scott City Boys Wrestling Classic, and Carolina Northup (110), Ashlyn Hahn (130) and Rivver Long (235) placing third, first and second for the Lady Tigers in the Hays Girls Prairie Classic. Also wrestling, but not placing were: Emerson Lowry, Saj Snyder, Temprance Northup, Mia Odle and Aidyen Kerr.
On Monday, the 13th, the Stockton Tigers were on the road to Mankato to take on Rock Hills for a game which was originally scheduled for the 7th, but was postponed due to inclement weather. Of the three games played, each belonged to the Grizzlies. The Lady Tigers were defeated in their matchup 50-27, the Tiger Boys were on the short end of the 57-38 score, and Stockton also fell in the JV boys’ contest 50-20.

The 2025 Northern Plains League Basketball Tournament got underway last Friday in Lincoln and Tescott, and will continue through this Friday, with games also being played at the two locations this Monday and Tuesday. The 10th-seeded Stockton Tiger boys took on the seventh-seeded Rock Hills Grizzlies on Friday, the 17th, losing the contest 56-38.
The Stockton Junior High Tigers played a couple opponents last week, hosting Osborne on Monday, the 13th, and traveling to Natoma on Thursday. The Lady Tigers’ A Team defeated both teams, holding on for a 24-20 win over Osborne, and claiming a 37-2 victory over Natoma.
