Dix and Kesler named to NPL First Team Volleyball

The Stockton Lady Tigers, who finished the season as sub-state runners-up, recently received some accolades for their achievement on the volleyball court. Seniors Ava Dix, Aubrey Kesler, Ashlyn Hahn, and Brin Muir each garnered post-season honors when the Northern Plaines League selections were announced last week.

SJH Basketball opens this Thursday against Lakeside

This Thursday marks the start of the Stockton girls and boys junior high basketball seasons when the young Tigers travel to Downs to take on Lakeside. Stockton will be at home for the first time on Tuesday, November 12, hosting Rock Hills, with games beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Cheyenne Hoeting medals at State Cross Country Meet

Stockton High School junior Cheyenne Hoeting made the most of her first trip to the 2024 KSHSAA 1A Cross Country State Championship in Wamego last Saturday, capturing a 15thplace medal. Having to contend with the rainy conditions, Hoeting crossed the finish line of the 5K race with a time of 22:09.93, to secure her place atop the podium with the other 19 medalists.

Regular Pheasant & Quail Season opens this Saturday

The regular pheasant and quail hunting season opens this Saturday, November 9th, and runs through January 31st, 2025. The daily bag limits are four (4) roosters and eight (8) quail. Remember, pheasants in possession of transportation must retain intact foot, plumage, or some part that will determine sex.

SHS Tigers fall to Quinter in final game of the season

The Stockton Tigers Football season ended last Thursday night with a 52-8 loss to the Quinter Bulldogs at Tiger Stadium. Although they were unable to get a win this year, the Stockton boys and their coaches put forth a valiant effort, dedicating themselves to the program, and giving it their all each night on the gridiron.

Lady Tigers finish as Sub-state Runners-up

Although their ultimate goal of qualifying for the state volleyball tournament eluded them, the Stockton Lady Tigers Volleyball Team had a very successful season, finishing as sub-state runners-up. The Lady Tigers, who started six seniors, gave it all they had at the Class 1A, DI Sub-state Volleyball Tournament held on Saturday in Tribune, but it wasn’t quite enough as they fell in the finals to the sub-state hosts, Greeley County, 20-25, 25-19, 18-25.
