Grandparents' Day on Sunday really seemed fallish and was a beautiful day. As I write this early Monday morning, there is lightning in the east, and Osborne is getting showers.

The Rooks County Board of Commissioners met with the following present: Chairman Tim Berland, and members Tracy Rudman and Jake Prockish. Laura Montgomery, County Clerk, was present to record the minutes. Tonia Goertz with Plainville Times was present to write a report for the newspaper.

Rooks County Health Center Clinic is continually seeking ways to make patient visits easier and more comfortable. Recently, the Stockton Clinic updated its furniture with new, taller chairs as well as bariatric seating options designed to help patients sit and stand with ease.

One of the messages athletic coaches will purvey to their players is when things go bad, or you get knocked down, “get back up.” You can’t stay down feeling sorry for yourself. Get back up and get back in the game with an even more determined effort.

Being a farm wife is like being the CEO of a chaotic, muddy, and occasionally smelly empire. Except instead of a fancy office, my 'boardroom' is the laundry room, and my staff consists of cows, a farmer who never takes coffee breaks, and dogs that think they're the boss.

Last week, we related how Paul and Barnabas, despite the many obstacles in their way, continued to preach the Word in the area that is now known as Turkey. There was opposition to what they were saying, but they continued to do what the Holy Spirit led them to do.
