The April 21st meeting of the Crossroads Quilt Guild was brought to order with refreshments provided by Janice Miller and Linda Stamper. Roll Call was taken with some quilts shown during Show and Tell. The minutes were read and approved as read. Diane Maddy gave the Treasurer’s Report. A motion was made to approve the report by Linda Stamper and seconded by Connie Haselhorst. The motion carried. Sew Day reports were Plainville had eight, and Stockton had six in attendance. The next Sew Days are May 10th for Stockton and May 14th for Plainville. Old Business was to find out who the first baby born to a married couple in Rooks County was for the New Year. Betty knew who it was (Riley and Megan Wise) and will be presenting the baby quilt to them. Nicole Ganoung offered her shop as a place to have Sew Days if the ladies were interested in having it there. There were no Committee Reports. Announcements are that Connie Haselhorst will host a sewalong in Stockton on June 21st at the Stockton Community Center. It will be a quilt called Cactus Flower. Kenda Ross announced that she will marry on November 1st, 2025. The next meeting will be May 19th at the VFW in Plainville at 6:30 p.m. Hostesses for the night are Janie Lowry and Susan Gartrell. Linda Gardner made a motion to adjourn, and Diane Maddy seconded it. The motion carried.—Sent in by Secretary Terri Collins

Broadway & Shows highlighted in K-5 Spring Music Concert

The lights on Broadway in Stockton shone brightly at the Broadway & Shows Stockton Grade School K-5 Spring Music Concert, held on Tuesday, April 29th, in the SHS Gym. The entrance and stage were adorned with a Broadway-themed motif, complete with a backdrop featuring a star for each of the students.

Wilma Turnbull: “While being on the campus in Manhattan last Saturday, along with Jill, Jacob, Jonathan, and a friend, Preston, the Stockton FFA students, and their teacher, Mr. Austin, walked into the Call Hall Dairy Bar we were visiting. We were so proud of them. Willie’s Purple Cow ice cream was a big hit!
