At the invitation of Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, Bryan Garvert of Plainville High School was selected to attend the 42nd Annual Governor's Scholar Awards Program on May 4, in Topeka. The recognition ceremony honors the top academic one percent of Kansas high school seniors.

Mr. Bennett’s Third-Grade Class holds Living Wax Museum

On Wednesday, May 7th, Stockton Grade School teacher Scott Bennett’s third-grade students presented a Living Wax Museum to the public, with each boy and girl dressing up like a famous person and presenting a speech about that person’s life. In preparing for the event, the students each read a book about their famous person, made a tri-fold exhibit with pictures and facts for display, and then dressed up like their hero at the event, which was held in the school cafeteria.

Nex-Tech loans $100,000 to support restaurant in Stockton

Nex-Tech has made a $100,000.00 loan to support the effort of 1872 Restaurant and Events to open an Italian restaurant and offer other entertainment services to the people of Stockton and the surrounding area. The loan was made possible through the Nex-Tech Revolving Loan Fund, which provides funds to eligible local businesses to create employment and contribute to sustaining the local economy. The loan is a testament to our commitment to making life better for the customers and the communities we serve.
