Friday morning we received 6/10 inch of rain/ snow mix, mostly melting as it hit the ground. Our grandson, Josiah Melton, turned 21 last week and will be graduating May 15 from Wichita State University with a major in Marketing Real Estate.

TERRY ODLE OF STOCKTOn recently attended the Pink Rose Scholarship Dinner sponsored by Kansas State University’s Alpha Gamma Rho (AGR) fraternity. The event was held on April 10 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Manhattan. Odle (wearing a hat) is shown in the mid-section of the second row with other alumni and active members who attended this year’s annual event. Other Stockton, and surrounding area, alumni are: Cade Beasley, Stephen Bigge, Keith Chesney, Calvin Dix, Roger McClellan, Clark Nelson, Terry Nelson, Brian Pelton, Landon Schneider, Lloyd Schneider and Theron Towns.

Peony Festival plans discussed at April Chamber meeting

The Stockton Peony Festival plans were discussed at the April monthly meeting of the Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce held on Tuesday, April 13th at Stitch & Chatter. Flyers for the festival are being finalized and will be sent out around Stockton and to area towns by the first of the month. Volunteers are needed to help set up the photo truck, help with the free pancake feed, work on the Peony Poker and Rock Walk stations, help with the organization and parade lineup. Anyone who can volunteer to help is asked to contact Chamber director Jayne Prockish as soon as possible. Also, t-shirts for the festival can be directly ordered from Libby Kester, with the orders to be in by May 7th.
