THE 35TH INFANTRY DIVISION BAND with the Kansas Army National Guard performed at the Nova Theatre on Wednesday, July 14th. Those that attended the performance were entertained from the minute the talented musicians hit the stage.

At the end of the regular monthly meeting of the Stockton USD 271 Board of Education held on Monday, July 12th, the members present voted to contract Rhonda Rogers as the grade school secretary.

THANK YOU! Harry and Willardene were elated with the card shower and reception on July 3rd in recognition of their 60 years together. A special thanks to daughter Ellen and daughter-in-law, Tiffany, for arranging the event.

JANET LANGUEIN of Plainville retired June 1, 2021, from the Rooks County Health Center after working the front desk for the past 15 years, 8 months. She had planned to work until she was 76 years of age but is just shy of that goal.

Thank you to the county for mowing our roadsides. It is much better to have the weeds cut down.

With 15 family members present for the July 4th celebration, breakfast was in shifts starting at 8:00 a.m., as the dining table will seat at the most 8 people at a time. Some of the family even made it to morning church services.

The “Birthday Twins” shown in last week’s photo were Nancy Becker and her cousin, Ron Bachman, giving each other a hug on the occasion of their first birthday, which would have been July 17, 1955.

PEOPLE OF STOCKTON are going to miss being greeted with the warm smile and kindness from Vicki Novotny at the city office. The City of Stockton held a retirement luncheon on Friday, July 2nd for Vicki Novotny for her 31 years of service.
