Commissioners approve partial roof replacement on Redbud Village facility

At the start of the Rooks County Commission meeting held on Tuesday, April 20th, the commissioners approved the bid from Hill City Roofing at a cost of $19,950.00 for the replacement of the east side of the roof at the Redbud Village facility. The company will also do an overview of the remainder of the roof and make repairs as necessary.

FHSU announces event considerations for spring commencement ceremonies

Fort Hays State University will hold its spring commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 14, and Saturday, May 15. There will be four ceremonies, divided by college, and though they will mirror the traditional ceremonies that the university has hosted in the past, graduates and guests planning to attend should make note of a few changes.

Condolences to the Breckenridge and Bartholomew families in the passing of their aunt, Elma Auchard, 100 years of age, of Bryan, Ohio. Elma graduated from Woodston High School with the Class of 1938. Her sister, Wilma Bartholomew, preceded her in death. The only living sister is Grace Merkley of Monte Vista, Colo. Graveside memorial services were held Monday, April 26th, at Woodston Cemetery, with a lunch at Fellowship Hall following the service.
