The Stockton Public Library Board met on Friday, August 6th and reported the statistics for July, as follows: Patrons Using Library—1,060; Library Material Checked Out—668; Adults Utilizing Library—340; Children Utilizing Library—328; Interlibrary Loans Sent—68; Interlibrary Loans Received—45; Story Time/ Outreach Programs Served—36 Children and 5 Adults; Summer Library Program—31 Children and 11 Adults; Computer Users—89; Newspaper Readers 126; Reference Requests—54; Computer Training of Patrons—5, and New Cards Issued—3. The e-book circulation for July was sunflower e-library—20 and Hoopla—38.

ROCKY AND KATHY CREIGHTON participated in the Rooks County Free Fair Agility on Saturday, July 31. They received a white in Agility I on lead, a red on Agility I off lead, a blue on Agility II off lead, a blue in Agility III off lead, Reserve Grand Champion Agility I off lead, a Reserve Grand Champion overall, and Grand Champion on lead pre-Agility. For High Scoring on lead, they received a trophy. Way to go, Rockstar!

Kevin Kniebel assumes the leadership post from Stephen Bigge

ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 22, the Kansas Grain Sorghum Commission's Board of Directors elected Kevin Kniebel, White City (pictured left) as Chairman of the Board. Kniebel assumes the leadership post from Stephen Bigge, Stockton, (pictured right) who has chaired the Commission since 2015. Bigge will finish out his term as Vice Chairman. Nathan Larson, Riley, was reelected Secretary and Treasurer.

K-383 field survey underway in Norton and Phillips counties

The Kansas Department of Transportation has started a field survey on a portion of K-383 in Norton and Phillips counties. Crews are working along 13 miles of K-383 from Almena to near W 800 Road in Phillips County to update survey mapping and drainage structures.
