It’s a busy time for farmers in Kansas with harvest underway and hay season in full swing. The Kansas Highway Patrol would like to remind motorists to use caution and patience when traveling around farm trucks, tractors, combines and other implements.

A READ-ALOUD was held on the high jump pad at Tiger Stadium following the Stockton vs. Hill City football game on October 1. The kids enjoyed “Family Huddle,” which was read by Tiger cheerleader, Olivia Dix.

As of Tuesday, October 12th, the Stockton Farmers Union Elevator has taken in 55,000 bushels of soybeans, 44,000 bushels of corn and 103,000 bushels of milo. Woodston Coop has taken in 78,000 bushels of soybeans, 67,000 bushels of corn and 5,600 bushels of milo.

The Council of the City of Woodston met in the Council Chamber at the City Hall on Monday, September 13th, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Council members present were Bill Dibble, Judy Turnbull, Caroline Manis and Annette Paulson.

The Kansas Department of Transportation recently announced approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects. The letting took place Sept. 22, 2021, in Topeka. Some of the bids may include multiple projects that have been bundled based on proximity and type of work.

The Stockton Food Pantry has moved to its new location at 602 Main Street, which is located right behind the Main Street Christian Church Parsonage (alley entrance). The Pantry serves many families each month, and the program can only continue through the great generosity of our local people.
