Deb Miller recognized by the Kansas Grain and Feed Association

THE KANSAS GRAIN AND FEED ASSOCIATION recognized Stockton Farmers Union Elevator Manager Deb Miller for her two years of service as the association’s first-ever female chair this past August. Miller has been a member of the KGFA for six years, and was voted in as chairwoman of the association two years ago. Now her term is up and she will serve as past chairwoman for the next two years.

"BE YOUR BEST SELF" was the theme chosen by TOPS KS #0375 of Stockton for the NW Area Fall Fun Days held on September 18, 2021. The local chapter hosted three other TOPS clubs from Russell, Norton and Athol. Awards were presented for the club with the Best Average Loss Per Member, Area Best Loser, member with the Most Consecutive Weeks With No Gain, chapter with Most No Gain Meetings, member with Perfect Attendance, Total Pounds Lost By Chapter, etc. Ladonna Schnuerle and Helena Saunders were presented certificates for being Outstanding KOPS Members! The Stockton chapter coach of Helena Saunders was recognized and each chapter voted on their Most Inspirational Member. Stockton's was Ladonna Schnuerle for the joy and inspiration she brings to our club. Stockton also won first-place ribbons for the Best Table Centerpiece, Best Name Tags and Best Dress To Theme. TOPS KS #0375 members in attendance for the event were from left: Sherry Brown, Janie Lowry, Helena Saunders, Ladonna Schnuerle and Laurie Montgomery. Meeting each Wednesday of the week makes for great accountability, encouragement and friendships. THE HOBART HOMEMAKERS FCE and Stockton Chamber of Commerce sponsored a Pumpkin Bake Off at the Pumpkin Patch held in Stockton over the weekend. Thanks to Linda McLaughlin for judging the delicious entries. The winners announced included Desserts: 1st place, Wilma Turnbull with Individual Pumpkin Cheesecakes; and 2nd place, Lavinia Haines with Pumpkin Spice Gooey Butter Cake; Snacks: 1st, Wilma Turnbull with Pumpkin Fudge; and 2nd, Wilma for her Pumpkin Bread. They sure do appreciate those who entered, but stated they need more entries next year!
