Terry Odle: “Many civic projects involve obtaining their “Seed Money” from the City or County. Their members then execute a worthwhile project. In the case of the Car Show, the Rodders provide their ownfunding and then contribute $5,000+ back to the City. The Rodders are a great civic group!”

By USD 271 Superintendent Sarah Armstrong As a new superintendent, and being new to the community, I am excited to kick off the school year meeting with parents, teachers, students, and community members. I want to get to know our community and traditions that we value.

“Amazing grace! How sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me.” These famous words are the opening verse of one of our most beloved Christian hymns. It was with those hymnal words that Daryl Sherraden ended his message this week on grace, but they summarize well the entire message.

The Linotype, once known as the 8th Wonder of the World, was invented by Ottmar Mergenthaler. At 18 years of age Mergenthaler emigrated to the United States from Germany in 1872.
