Jane Katherine Maddy, age 71, of Altus, Okla., passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023.

She was born November 20, 1951, in Colby, to Jay and Margene (Gradig) Griffin. Jane married Kerry Maddy on January 2, 1971, and to this union, three children were born. Jane loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jim Griffin.

Eldon Don Gagert, age 87, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, at the Chase County Community Hospital, Imperial, Neb.

He was born October 29, 1935, in Woodston, Kansas, to Agnes Anne (Nech) and Clyde (Sliv) Merle Gager.

Eldon grew up in Woodston and graduated from Woodston High School with the class of 1954. He continued his education at Ft. Hayes College in Hayes, Kansas.

Rita Malin, age 89, of Lawrence, passed away March 1, 2023.

She was born August 9, 1913, to William Patrick Hogan and Rita Ethel (Lindley) Hogan

Rita Hogan married Joe Malin in 1951 and they were blessed with nine children: Max (deceased), Lori, Jared, Lois, Barbara, Steven, Michael, David, and Christi.

Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Plainville.

Mary Anna (Hicks) Ernst, of Plainville, passed away on March 2, 2023, at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, at the age of 77.

She was born to Joseph and Sylvia (Voight) Hicks on August 31, 1945, in her Grandfather Hicks’s house in Logan. The family lived for a time in Stockton before her father, Joseph, was transferred to Plainville with his job with Co-op.

She married Rudi Heinz Ernst on May 20, 1966, in the Plainville United Methodist Church. They were blessed with one son, Joseph Erwin Ernst.

Wilda M. Bowman, age 92, of Kearney, Neb., passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Kearney Regional Medical Center.

Pamela "Pam" Yvette Bracy, age 69, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2023.

She was born on August 14, 1953, in Woodston, Kansas, to Warren and Janeva Jones, who both preceded her in death.

Pam was the oldest of four siblings, which undoubtedly led to her hard-working, nurturing, and selfless personality. She was rarely still and spent her life ensuring those around her were happy and cared for.

Lenora Mae (Boese) Stelter of Plainville passed away on February 23, 2023, at her home in Plainville.

She was born on November 14, 1933, to Walter and Minnie (Krug) Boese in Alexander. She married Ralph Stelter on July 13, 1952. They were blessed with three daughters: Pam, Carol, and Kim.

Lenora grew up in Alexander and graduated from Alexander High School in 1951. She was a homemaker and kept busy raising three daughters.

Former Plainville resident Agnes “Arlene” (Gates) Rogers passed away on February 22, 2023, in Yuma, Ariz., at the age of 94.

She was born on June 22, 1928, to Lewis and Ora (Ellis) Gates in Logan. She married Robert Rogers on December 21, 1951, in Zurich. They had five children: Linda, Kathy, Bob, Connie, and Julie.

Arlene grew up in Norton and graduated from Norton High School in 1946. She worked for the City of Norton before moving to Stockton to work at the city office until her first child was born.
