William “Bill” Frances Harmon, Sr., 81, of Plainville, Kansas, passed away on March 4, 2026, at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville.

He was born on January 27, 1945, in Oberlin, Kansas, to Paul Meredith and Frances Lenore (Case) Harmon. Bill grew up in Oberlin and graduated from Oberlin High School in 1965. He later continued his education, earning an associate’s degree. On February 11, 1968, he married Pamela Sue Dennis in Oberlin.

Eugene Philip Normandin, 95, entered eternal life on April 2, 2026.

He was born to Norman and Irene (Benoit) Normandin on January 6, 1931. At the time of his birth, his dad was working for the railroad in Bogue, and the family lived in a boxcar. Needless to say, Gene liked to tell everyone that he was born in a boxcar. Gene was the fourth child of 10 children and spent most of his life in Damar. He attended school there and graduated from Damar High School in 1949.  Following graduation, he served his country in the Armed Forces.

Billy Pearce, 76, of Plainville, Kansas, passed away February 13, 2026, at Redbud Village in Plainville.

He was born on November 10, 1949, in Great Bend, Kansas, to Floyd and Joyce Pearce.

Billy grew up in Smith Center, Kansas, where he graduated from Smith Center High School. He lived in Hays before moving to RedBud Village, where he became a cherished part of the community.

Antionette Albia (Benoit) Hamel passed peacefully at the age of 96, at her home surrounded by family.

She was born in Damar, Kansas, on November 21, 1929, to Ulric and Deloris (Manny) Benoit, and grew up on a farm outside Damar.

Antionette and Emery Hamel were married on August 7, 1947, and to this union six children were born. In 1973, they moved off the farm to Hill City, Kansas, and had been married 62 years when Emery passed.

Judith May “Judy” (Watkins) Turnbull, 85, passed away on March 24, 2026, at Redbud Village in Plainville, Kansas.
