Sheryl Lynn (Westhusin) Steece passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the UMSC Hospital in Charleston, S.C., at the age of 60.

She was born on March 14, 1966, to Marvin (Gene) and Carol ( Mayes) Westhusin.

Sheryl lived in many places in Colorado and Kansas growing up, often calling Brush, Colo., home, where she spent many hours visiting elderly residents at the Residential Living Complex. She graduated from Plainville High School with the class of 1985. She later became a CNA and loved helping people, especially the elderly.

Sheryl enjoyed spending time with family and friends, took great pride in mowing her yard, and enjoyed crocheting and playing games on Facebook. She was a huge fan of the Denver Broncos and loved NASCAR racing.

On June 16, 2010, she married her best friend and love of her life, Wesley Steece. They briefly lived in Plainville before returning to Windsor, S.C., where they lived with their dogs, Nessie and Lola, and her late dog, Patches.

Sheryl loved her family and friends deeply. She always kept in touch with everyone and updated the rest of the family on everyone’s well-being. A birthday never went by without a phone call and her singing “Happy Birthday.” She had a beautiful soul and smile, and her blue eyes always sparkled, especially when she was being ornery or just loving life.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Terry.

She is survived by her husband, Wes, of the home; brother Julius Westhusin, Prairie View; and sister Deanna (Randy) Ewing, Phillipsburg; nieces and nephews, Lyndsay, Sydney, Adam (Karli), Savannah (Dunncan), Amariya, and Bryson; as well as many other family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at the Plainville Cemetery on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.
