Gerald Wayne Doerfler, age 81, Codell, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Rooks County Health Center.

Leo J. “Jay” Russell passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at his home in Natoma at the age of 85. He was born on December 24, 1935 to James and Ruth (Selbe) Russell in Ellis. He was united to Vesta (Hrabe) Shannon on November 10, 1968. The couple was blessed with a son, Chris.

Ralph Gerard Thummel, age 62, of Hays, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021, at his home.  He was born April 28, 1958, in Plainville, Kansas to John and Ruth (Hoff) Thummel. He married Wanda (Deges) Thyfault on June 5, 1987, at Hays, Kansas.

Helen Marie Breckenridge, age 93, of Independence, Mo., peacefully left this earthly life on March 1, 2021, surrounded by family. Helen was born October 21, 1927, in Kansas City, Missouri to Vena and Lester Jones.

A Memorial Service for former Woodston and Norton resident, Velma Mae Grimes, age 89, Westmoreland, has been set for Saturday, March 20th, 2021, at the Woodston United Methodist Church beginning at 1:00 p.m. She passed away Monday, December 21, 2020, at the Onaga Community Hospital in Onaga.

Shannon Lee (Stagner) Larsen, age 73, Plainville, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2021, at her daughter's home.

Rita Mae Younker, age 84, Plainville, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021, at the Redbud Village in Plainville. She was born on September 15, 1936, to George and Genevieve (Meis) Merklinger in Park.

Smith Center resident, Paul Nix, passed away February 26, 2021 at the age of 64.   He was born August 23, 1956 in Meridian, TX. Survivors include his wife Margaret of the home; a son, Nicholas of Smith Center; his daughter, LaDonna Stice of Stockton; 9 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Dennis Tucker passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Mount Joseph Care Center in Concordia, Kansas at the age of 74.

Former Woodston resident, Betty Ellen Delaney, age 90, passed away February 11, 2021, in Hill City, Kansas.
