Stockton High School’s social sciences teacher, Michelle Towery, has been selected as the school’s 2025 Kansas Secondary Teacher of the Year. She was celebrated, along with the rest of the nominees, in Salina on Saturday, April 6th, at the Region 1 Banquet.

The Rooks County Health Center’s annual meeting and board elections will occur on Friday, May 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. The election will be for two seats on the RCH Board of Directors. Board candidates must demonstrate eligibility to vote, U.S. citizenship, and residency within the hospital district.

Sara Balthazor is Stockton City’s newest office employee. She started on Monday, March 4th, and oversees the duties of billing and city code enforcement.

During her report at the Stockton City Commission meeting on Tuesday, April 2nd, city clerk Kayla Hilbrink stated there are city board positions open, so if anyone is interested in serving on a board, they should contact the City office. She also noted that the auditors had been at the office.

On Friday, March 22nd, six couples were honored as the 2023 Class of Kansas Master Farmers and Master Farm Homemakers in recognition of their leadership in agriculture, environmental stewardship, and service to their communities.
