Near Whiteout Conditions

Body
A massive winter storm moved into western Kansas late Sunday evening and during the early morning hours with blizzard warnings and predictions of up to seven to fourteen inches of snowfall. In anticipation of the snowstorm, Stockton School District #271 called school off for Monday, January 8th, Sunday night. The District also canceled the monthly school board meeting for that evening and rescheduled it to a later date.
HEAVY SNOW AND BLIZZARD CONDITIONS hit the Stockton area on Monday, and by the evening hours the wind gusts of 40+ mph resulted in near whiteout conditions. The blowing snow greatly reduced visibility for those needing to be out in the elements during the night and into the early morning hours on Tuesday. School was closed and residents were advised to stay indoors if at all possible.
