Louis Moses Thyfault was born in Canada February 16, 1843. He immigrated to this country in 1857 and settled in Kankakee, Illinois. When the Civil War broke out in 1861, he enlisted in Co. A, 26th Illinois Infantry Volunteers.

Applying for a marriage license in Kansas is now easier and more convenient, thanks to a grantfunded project to move most of the process online. Couples applying for a marriage license in Kansas are now able to complete the application online at www.kscourts.org/marriage.
