Board tours facilities during meeting

Employees talk wages with commissioners

Body At the regular weekly meeting of the Rooks County Commission held on Tuesday, October 11th, several road and bridge employees were at the morning session to talk about wages in the department.

Survey starting on K-9 bridge in Smith County

Body The Kansas Department of Transportation has started a field survey for a proposed project to replace the Beaver Creek bridge along K-9 in Smith County. The bridge is located near the west city limits of Gaylord.

Fall Turkey Season in full swing

Body The Fall Turkey Season began on Saturday, October 1st and will run until Thursday, November 10th in units 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6. Unit 4 is closed. This is for archery and shotgun with the shooting hours to begin one-half hour before sunrise to sunset.

City holds short meeting

Body At the regular meeting of the Stockton City Commission held on Tuesday, October 4th, the commissioners began their work session by approving Resolution 1685, which approves the name change for the Kansas Power Pool.

Goblin’s Glory next Thursday, October 20th

Body Please take note that the annual FFA Goblin’s Glory will be held next Thursday, October 20th in the Stockton High School Gym. This date is different than what was printed on the school calendar, so make plans to attend this night of spooky fun.

Advance voting to begin October 19th

Body The Rooks County Clerk’s Office has announced that beginning Wednesday, October 19th, you are now allowed to vote in advance of the November 8th General Election, by visiting the Rooks County Clerk’s Office, 2nd Floor of the Rooks County Courthouse.
