The Stockton Junior High Tigers returned to action in impressive fashion last Thursday, sweeping the Tescott Trojans in a home doubleheader. The Lady Tigers captured a dominant 32-5 victory in A-Team action, while the B Team held on for a hard-fought 10-8 win.

The Logan/Palco Junior Trojans welcomed Northern Valley to town on Thursday, January 8, for a doubleheader with the Huskies. In girls action, both Lady Trojan squads battled hard but came up short.

The Logan/Palco basketball teams rang in the new year with a trio of road contests, opening the 2026 schedule with trips to Oberlin, Downs, and Grainfield. On Friday, January 2, the Trojans traveled to Oberlin to take on Decatur Community.

After several strong offensive performances that didn’t always translate to wins, the Stockton Tiger Boys finally broke through with their first victory of the season, defeating the Natoma Tigers 68-47 on the road.

The Stockton Lady Tiger wrestlers turned in a competitive showing at the J.R. Durham Invitational on Friday, January 9, highlighted by a runner- up finish from senior Carolina Northup at 100 pounds and a third-place performance by Saj Snyder at 110. Northup powered her way to the championship bout with two pins, while Snyder battled back through the consolation bracket to claim third place.

The Plainville Cardinal boys wrestling team turned in a strong showing at the Salina South Invitational on Saturday, January 10, with three wrestlers reaching championship matches and senior heavyweight Ryddik Bethel leading the way with a firstplace finish.

Ryddik Bethel, a senior at Plainville High School, is one of 88 players who have received invitations to play in the 53rd Kansas Shrine Bowl on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Welch Stadium on the campus of Emporia State University in Emporia. These invitations are the result of a selection process combining statewide media votes and Kansas Shrine Bowl coaching staff selections from a list of nearly 400 nominees.

The Plainville Cardinal girls wrestling team performed well at the J.R. Durham Invitational on Friday, January 9, in Norton, highlighted by two individual championships and several medal finishes.
